PFP Visits Academy of Natural Sciences

Meet up with PFP families at the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia on Saturday, April 6 from 2-4pm. Visit their dinosaur gallery, dioramas, live butterflies and new Mythical Beasts exhibit. It’s also Animal Superhero Weekend at ANS, so check out some special things going on.

Check their web site for ticket prices, but also note that Groupon has a steep discount on an annual membership right now, so that might be a better deal.

Look for PFP board member Gina Cline in the dinosaur gallery next to the Parkway entrance at 2pm. If you want to coordinate with her ahead of time, email her at gina@phillyfamilypride.org.

As always, if you’d like to participate but are short on funds, please let us know and we’ll be happy to pitch in to make it affordable. (Email Stephanie Haynes at stephanie@phillyfamilypride.org and she’ll make it happen.)

Wissahickon Hike

Spring Hike at Schuylkill Center

Get outside for this spring hike at the beautiful Schuylkill Center in Roxborough from 10:30-11:30am on Saturday, May 4th. Look for PFP board member Becca Levin.

From their web site:

Want to get outside but don’t know where to start? Bring your family for a hike and unstructured nature play with representatives from our NaturePHL program. We’ll climb, explore, and learn more about the many health benefits of outdoor activity. Meet us at the Visitor Center and we’ll head out from there.

All ages welcome. No registration required. This event recurs every first Saturday of the month.

This program is part of NaturePHL, a collaborative program with CHOP that helps Philadelphia children and families achieve better health through activity in local parks, trails, and green spaces.
